There are so many reasons to smile

This week I...

...turned down one job offer and one interview. It might sound crazy considering how long I've been waiting for a job, but sometimes a girl (a married couple) has to think responsibly and know when to say "no thanks," like when the job pays minimum wage and doesn't offer benefits at all or when I'd be working 3rd shift hours.

...mailed "change of address" cards. Finally.

...made one too many trips to the new house, which was awesome because I got to see Hub more than usual, but not so awesome because of gas prices. Seriously, it'd be cheaper to ride a horse, if you don't mind getting there at a much slower pace. I would, personally, love to arrive in the parking lot and say, "Gosh. Where should I park my horse today? All the good stalls are taken." harhar

...drank too much coffee. I'm considering giving up coffee and/or sugar -- as much sugar as realistically possible, if you know what I mean -- for Lent just because it would definitely be a sacrifice on my part. If I'm not actually addicted to coffee and sugar, then I simply have no self-control. Note to self: Ash Wednesday is next week.

...ate lunch on campus with Sis and Baby Nephew, two of the prettiest people I know. It made crawling out of bed on a sleepy Friday morning totally worth it. If this kid was made of chocolate, I'd gobble him up in a heartbeat. His smile is contagious.

...felt incredibly grateful and excited that my parents finally got city water for their house. They have used well water for as long as I can remember. I grew up using well water, which (in case you don't know) is natural water from the ground, but filtered through a tank before it enters the house. I like well water, honestly, but considering all the problems and expenses that have recently developed with having well water -- tanks, sand filters, etc. -- it is a major blessing for my parents to have city water. We are all happy with it.

...was inspired when I read this: What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday? Yes, I want to thank God every.single.day. for everything I have, especially the things I take for granted. I am so very blessed.

  1. I laughed out loud at the horse comment. How funny would that be?

Well the good news is that you're getting interviews/offers. Sounds like it will take a little longer, but glad you're not settling. You will be much happier once the waiting pays off! :)

    Have a great weekend Erin!

  2. Definitely a cutie patootie!
Gas prices - UGH! I have road trips planned for next month, and have to keep reminding myself to budget an extra $20-30 than normal due to the gas increasing! :( Gas prices currently are NOT helping the economy.

  4. Very cute!
It's not the ghosts I'm running from. They're harmless compared to the service, government and criminals in this country!

Love reading your posts - horses. Now that'd be awesome!
