This might sound crazy, but I want to watch The Beverly Hillbillies.
Hub is rather random when he talks to me in the morning while we get ready for work. I never know what might come out of his mouth. If he were any other man, I would expect inquiries about breakfast or dinner or rain. But he is random, especially during early mornings or late at night.
I laughed when he mentioned The Beverly Hillbillies today. Why do you want to watch that? I asked.
Because it's funny, he said. I used to watch it a lot.
Suddenly, I remembered our little college house and all the early mornings when I would get ready for work and he would prepare for morning classes. We didn't share a bathroom then because the bathrooms in the house were too small. Then again, the entire house was small so we were able to talk to each from nearly any room. Most of the time, however, we turned on the television in the living room, which was in the center of the house, to hear the weather forecast. When Hub had heard enough weather, he would change the channel to watch The Beverly Hillbillies. It aired every weekday morning.
Those were the good, ole days, I said. Weren't they, Hub?
Yep, but so are these.
