Going to a conference and I'm gonna get ma-a-arried... what?

Okay, I'm not getting married -- I'm already married, duh. But I AM going to a blogging conference hosted by Arkansas Women Bloggers and sponsored by Country Outfitter. I am so excited, I can't even describe how it feels. I have wanted to attend a blogging event for a while, but haven't had the opportunity until now.

I am a member of ARWB and learned of their conference a few months ago, but didn't think I could afford to go. Although the registration price was reasonable, I knew it would cost a pretty penny with lodging and everything else. When ARWB contacted me last week to say they'd found a sponsor for me, I was ecstatic. It's a blogging dream come true. Thank you, ARWB and my sponsor! Now I can cross two things off my bucket list.

Here are the reasons I think YOU should attend too:
  • The venue is Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, AR. If you've never been to Mountain View or the Folk Center, you are MISSING OUT. Mountain View is a beautiful town in the Ozark Mountains and the Folk Center is a neat place to learn about our southern heritage and even interact in some old-fashioned shenanigans.
  • The workshops sound amazing and insightful -- blogger technicalities and legalities, a writer's content panel, blog photography, defining your blog, the business of blogging, and brands and logos. It's everything a blogger needs all wrapped up in one shiny conference package. I can't wait!
  • You don't want to miss all the awesome speakers, namely Lela Davidson from After the Bubbly, who also wrote Blacklisted from the PTA. I haven't read her book yet, but her blog is informative and funny. I am excited to meet ALL of these women at the conference.

And, if that's not enough incentive, Country Outfitter will be a major part of the scene. Stay tuned to find out more or join us at Arkansas Women Bloggers Unplugged 2012.

  1. I'm a member, but between going to CO soon and I just can't leave Firecracker and B for a weekend, you'll have to tell me about it.
